Transatlantic Mails Balance, 1798-1860s, collection balance of 35 covers including a few non-transatlantics, noted includes 1858 Suspension Bridge N.Y. with "24" rating handstamp to England, 1865 Colchester, England with GB 1s to Boston Mass. with red "21/Cents" credit handstamp and "Boston Am. Pkt. Paid" exchange cds, 1863 Liverpool to New York with "U.S. Notes / 34" depreciate currency marking, 1839 Philadelphia Pa. to Liverpool freight money letter carried by "Great Western", #78 on Boston to London cover, #69 on 1869 St. Louis Mo. to Ireland cover, 1836 London to New York by Red Star Line "Saint Andrew" with large red "7" due handstamp, 1844 Scotland to Philadelphia with blue "20¾" script due rating handstamp (ex-Winter), a few scarce Liverpool datestamps including black dotted experimental cds (ex-Winter), etc., some mixed condition, F.-V.F. an interesting balance.
