1847, 5¢ red brown, two singles, both with large margins, tied by blue grid cancels with contrasting red "Detroit Mich. Nov 23" cds on blue 1849 folded cover to Buffalo N.Y.; bottom stamp small tear at top and affected by horizontal file fold, still Very Fine and scarce combination of blue and red markings, ex-Ackerman, Sampson, Hart, Mirsky; with 1969 P.F. certificate.

1847, 5¢ red brown, two singles, left four margins, right slightly in, tied by red circular grid cancels, matching "STEAM / BOAT" two-line handstamp below on 1848 gray folded cover to Toronto, Canada, red "Queenston U.C., Nov 12 1848" cds overstriking "Steam / Boat", manuscript "4½" pence due rating, partial Toronto arrival backstamp; some docketing at right, internal cover tear right of stamps, a Fine and scarce example of a Hudson River steamboat usage to Canada.

Jul 11" integral-rate cds on 1850 orange cover to Doylestown Penn., 1850 docketing and with original enclosure, fresh and Very Fine, very unusual with the stamp cancelled by both the grid and circular datestamp, ex-Boker, Mirsky.

1847, 10¢ black, double transfer, two singles, right stamp pos. 41R1 with Type D double transfer and large margins showing 4.5mm left sheet margin, other full to slightly in, tied together by two strikes of red circular grid cancel, matching red "Roswell Ga. 13 Feb" cds on cover to Darien Ga.; stamps with faint toning spots, F.-V.F.; with 2008 P.F. certificate.

A RARE INTRA-STATE USE OF THE 10¢ 1847 FROM GEORGIA, THIS IS THE ONLY RECORDED EXAMPLE AT DOUBLE THE 10¢ RATE FOR OVER 300 MILES.

There are no double-rate 10¢ covers among the eight 10¢ Roswell covers listed in the Alexander Census, and only one in all of Georgia to Massachusetts. There are no intrastate double-rate 10¢ covers listed for any of the Southern states. Letter written by George Hull Camp (1818-1907), originally from Utica NY and later relocated to Roswell, Ga. to his wife, Jane Margaret (Atwood) (1826-1911) from Darien, Ga. They were married on April 9, 1850 making this cover an 1851 usage. George probably wrote to her while she was visiting her parents in Darien.

Oct 8" cds on blue 1849 folded banking house letter to New Orleans La., small edge tear at top, Very Fine and attractive use, ex-Sampson, Rose, Wall, Mirsky.
