"Hub Royal Art Stove" Pioneer Post Card, multicolor illustrated ad design by Smith Anthony Stove Co., Boston Mass. bearing 1¢ gray blue (206) tied by "Boston, Mass." oval cancel to Augusta Me.; printed message to the trade on mailing side, address smudged from album removal, otherwise Very Fine and rare multicolor pioneer post card design.

Post Paid Reply Postal Card "Essay", two cards, first with manuscript "…this shows the principle only of J. Neale’s Double, or Return, or Reply, Postal Card. To open or shut this card, press the catches against each other and they will lock or unlock with ease." and second with "This half of the card is intended to be separated from the other half and with the reply returned to the sender who would write (or have boldly printed thereon) their, his or her own address.", the "catches" are missing, both cards bearing 1¢ dark ultramarine (182), first tied perfectly struck Star in Starburst (Cole STU-36) fancy duplexed with "Ilion N.Y., Sep 5, 1881" cds to local Ilion address, the return replay card is unused with 1¢ left uncancelled, Very Fine and clever essay.

Paid Reply Postal Card, 1893, 2¢ blue on grayish white, message card only, message card only, with printed red For the German Red Cross advertising on front in German and illustrated design with 1915 message surrounding on reverse, cancelled by "New York Tremont Apr 8" duplex, addressed to Hessen, Germany, Very Fine and unusual with printed advertising on face, Printing on the front of postal cards was against postal regulations.
