Mexico, 1864, Eagle (1st Period), ½r brown, Aguascalientes, two singles, both with ample to large margins, neatly tied by mute "0" cancels (Schatzkes 12) on fresh 1865 folded letter sheet to Guadalajara, matching Aguascalientes boxed date stamp alongside (Schatzkes 11A), Very Fine and choice, only 100 sent, a wonderful exhibition piece and a true rarity of the issue, covers with this issue have eluded most of the great Mexico collections; with 2016 M.E.P.S.I. certificate.

Mexico, 1864, Eagle (1st Period), ½r brown, Zacatecas, in combination with 1864-66, Eagle (4th Period), 4r green, Zacatecas, horizontal bisect, cons 20-65, on small piece tied by San Miguel del Mezquital straight line cancel (Schatzkes 1891), Very Fine, a unique franking of 2½ reales, a small number of covers exist with this rate since the ½ real was for the ship to a foreign destination but none are recorded with a combination of a bisect and a brown medio real, only 50 stamps of the medio brown were sent, ex-Paliafito; signed A. Diena, with 1986 M.E.P.S.I. certificate.
