New South Wales, 1850, Sydney View, 2d Issues, Plate I, nine used examples showing the various states of the copper plate from full clouds on earliest impressions to very worn, two examples show retouches to the worn plate, most are four margins, some small faults include creasing, generally F.-V.F.

New South Wales, 1850, Sydney View, 2d Deep Blue, Plate I, Intermediate Impression, two singles, positions 10 & 11, each showing the one of the double compartment lines (one from adjacent printing above) slightly into each stamp at top, ample and large margins, Very Fine, a considerably rare variety. Scott No. 3e.
SG No. 16c    Estimate $1,000 - 1,500.

Because of the unusual shape of the 2d plate (12x2), after the first printing operation the sheet of paper was turned around and a second printing was made. This created the unique tete-beche pair. When the printings were close together, double compartment lines appear.

New South Wales, 1850, Sydney View, 2d Deep Blue, Plate I, Intermediate Impression, vertical pair, margins clear to huge showing the double compartment lines in top margin, tied by 26 in barred oval cancels on piece, Very Fine, a considerably rare variety. Scott No. 3e.
SG No. 16c    Estimate $1,000 - 1,500.

New South Wales, 1850-51, Sydney View 2d Issues, 14 singles with Numeral Cancel interest; plate 1: numerals "3", "5" and "39" (two are from the retouched plate) - plate II: "9" (reversed), butterfly "37" of Melbourne (faults), "64" (4 reversed) and "90" - plate III: "55", "71", and "78" - plate IV "3", "61" (laid paper) and "88" (laid paper) and "92" - plate V: "15" (rare), most stamps are fine with four margins, generally F.-V.F. overall; plate V stamp with 1993 A.P.S. certificate.
