1851, 1¢ blue, type Ib, position 3R1E, cancel removed, margins large to into scroll at bottom left, bold color, couple repair tears and thins, Very Fine appearance, still a very presentable example of this scarce 1851 1¢ type; with 1985 P.F. certificate.

1851, 1¢ blue, type Ia, "curl in C" variety, position 97R4, town cancel, margins large to a bit in at sides, with full scrolls clearly visible at bottom, deep color, Fine, a presentable example of this rare 1¢ plate 4 type; with 1976 P.F. certificate.
Scott No. 6 var.    $12,000.

Produced from only 18 of the 20 subjects in the bottom row of both panes of Plate 4, the 1¢ imperforate, type Ia owes it's rarity to the short three month period that the Plate 4 imperforates where produced.

1851, 1¢ blue, type IIIa, plate 4, showing wide break in outerline at top, town cancel, large to mostly huge margins showing portions of adjacent stamps on three side, rich color and sharp detailed impression, Extremely Fine and choice, a lovely large margin gem from the scarce plate four; with 1999 & 2011 P.F. and 2013 P.S.E. certificates, the latter two Graded (XF 90, SMQ $2,500).
