Confederacy, Macon, Ga., 1861, 5¢ black on light blue green, corner margin single which is a bit in at left, tied by Macon, Ga. double circle postmark on 1862 folded cover to Mt. Jonah, Ga., datelined "Geo. Academy for the Blind", cover appears to be an adversity usage as the outside is previously used, F.-V.F.; signed Dietz.

Lot 2042    

Confederacy, Macon, Ga., 1861, 5¢ black on yellow on laid, top right corner margin single with large margins, tied by Macon, Ga. double circle postmark of cover to Flemmington, Fla., adhesive with light staining (not mentioned on certificate) and 1979 P.F. mentions tiny tear at bottom left, of which we find no trace, flap missing & small cover tear at top, Very Fine, ex-Seybold; with 1966 Friedl and 1988 P.F. certificates.

Confederacy, Memphis, Tenn., 1861, 5¢ red, a huge margin stamp, showing adjoining stamps at right and bottom and ample at left, tied by "Memphis, Ten, Oct 1861" circular datestamp on cover to Macon, Tenn., neat repair along top and repositioned backflap, stamp is Extremely Fine, ex-Knapp, Brooks, Emerson, MacBride and Everett; with 2007 P.F. certificate.
