Hawaii, 1882, 5¢ ultramarine, horizontal pair, canceled by large four-ring cancel, used with 2¢ rose (43), natural s.e. at right, all tied by "Honolulu, H.I., Dec 22, 1890" duplex on cover addressed to U.S. Ship "Iroquois" in Apia, Samoa, magenta "Paid All." oval handstamp, reverse with "Rec'd Jan. 1. 1891, Apia, Samoa, Per S.S. Alameda" receipt docketing; stamps slightly affected by edge placement, Very Fine and attractive, ex-Peters.

Hawaii, 1882, 5¢ ultramarine, horizontal pair, cancelled by purple three-ring target cancels with matching "Spreckelsville, Maui, Mar, 1885" (281.01, R4) cds on cover to Heidelberg, Germany, black "Honolulu, Hawaii, Mar 14" cds, unusual fancy "T" handstamp with purple crayon "2/" double-weight rating and "50 ctms" (10¢) postage due rating, additional blue crayon large "80" due marking, reverse with New York (3.27) and "Verviers A. Coeln" (4.7) transit backstamps; slight overall toning, central file fold, small cover tear at top, Very Fine appearance, ex-Steiner.
