Hawaii, 1893, 1¢ green, red overprint, tied by third-class "Honolulu, H.I." cds on unsealed cover to New South Wales, Australia at the 1¢ printed matter rate, partial Bathurst (3.5.97) arrival backstamp; some minor tone spots, otherwise Very Fine and rare 1¢ printed matter rate to Australia.

Hawaii, 1893, 2¢ dull violet, red overprint, well centered jumbo, tied by four-rings cancel on unsealed cover to Germany at the printed matter rate, endorsed "Printing" at top left, reverse with San Francisco (1.7.1895) transit and Delswitz-Erzgebirge (1.26) arrival cds, Very Fine and choice printed matter use, ex-Nettles.

The Honolulu four-rings cancel was use without the cds due to third class matter.

Hawaii, 1893, 2¢ rose vermilion, black overprint, used with 1¢ blue, red overprint (54) and 2¢ brown, red overprint (56), all tied by "Honolulu, H.I. May 23, 1893" duplex strikes on cover to H.S. Crocker at San Francisco Cal., May 31st arrival backstamp, Very Fine.

THIS IS THE EARLIEST KNOWN USE OF THE 1¢ BLUE, 2¢ BROWN AND 2¢ VERMILION 1893 OVERPRINT ISSUE.

The 1893 overprints were issued on May 20, 1893, and this cover is dated only three days later to famed collector Henry Crocker.
