Hawaii, 1893, 15¢ red brown, black overprint, used with 5¢ deep indigo, red overprint (58), tied by red four-ring cancel, matching bold "Honolulu, Hawaii, May 1, 1895" cds, "A.R." and "R" registry handstamp to Arlington Heights, Oh., reverse with partial strike of purple "C.V. Sturdevant, Sole Agent" backstamp, purple San Francisco (5.9) transit backstamp; some trivial gum toning, Very Fine, ex-Steiner; with 2004 P.F. certificate.

Hawaii, 1893, 50¢ red, black overprint, used with 10¢ red brown, black overprint (68), tied by red four-ring cancel, matching "Honolulu, Hawaii, Sep 18, 1895" cds and "R" registry handstamp to Ulm, Germany, red "Ruckscheim" straightline, reverse with purple San Francisco (10.9), New York (10.15) transits and Ulm (10.26) arrival cds, New York (FX-NY1a) registry exchange label affixed, corner clipped for fumigation due to cholera epidemic, Very Fine, ex-Blueler.

The 1895 Cholera epidemic quarantined Honolulu from August 20, 1895 to October 23, 1895 and mail was fumigated before it could be put aboard a ship bound for another port.
