1894, 1¢ Black on Buff, Collection, mounted mint and used collection in two albums with flat and rotary press issues, includes mint, blocks of four, wild miscuts incl. used examples, card stock shades, ink shades, printing varieties with poor impressions, scratches, dent in stamp border (S14b2), scratch across forehead (S14c), scratch across cheek, wreath and inscription damage, partial impressions on rotary press, albino cards, ghost impressions, coated cards for reuse, few fancy cancels and postmarks, US Occupation of Philippines and Territorial uses, some foreign destinations like Luxembourg, Hawaii, Bolivia, Australia, Nicaragua, Gold Coast West Africa etc., E2 Special Delivery use, machine cancels including flags and Barr-Fyke experimentals, twice mailed uses, private roulette 9½ separation (EKU used Dec. 2nd 1897), fancy advertising including printed multicolor ads, reward cards incl. $250 J.N. 'Teutonic' views by Universal Postal Card Co., New York (5) Unz & Co. views, Atlantic City by Voelker, Worcester Mass. multicolor (2 types mint and used), Baltimore Md. in two-color and multicolor formats, Chicago Hotel Restaurant Bismark, etc, F.-V.F. and scarce group with some wonderful pioneer cards.

Doremus, American, Columbia, Perfect Hamden, Pneumatic, Potter & Vail exp., National Export and St. Louis World's Fair slogans, etc., usages with auxiliary markings, RPOs, RFD, Street Cars, reused, use with Japan stamps, foreign destinations including. Japan, Netherlands with postage due, Argentina, Philippines UX1, UX1a and mint and used, Porto Rico with UX1-3 mint and used plus UX1A mint (toned), Cuba overprints mint and used, coated front and back, 1898 Trans-Miss. Exposition cards (EX89-98) complete set of 10 mint (Cat. $1,000) plus three used domestically, plus a counterfeit card, and large section of advertising including illustrated and multicolors, F.-V.F. and wonderful collection.

1897, 1¢ Black on Buff, Pioneer View Cards, large mint and used group of 47 postal cards with pioneer views including multicolor designs, includes Lookout Mountain Tenn. by Kropp (2 mint and 1 used), Brooklyn Bridge (Kreh) multicolor, Greater New York Souvenir by H.A. Rost group of 3 mint and 8 used, plus H.A. Rost Niagara Falls used to Germany, couple different Greetings from Galveston (Ferd Ohlendorf), couple Chicago "Hotel Restaurant Bismark", and one with foreign Kyoto view, etc., F.-V.F. and scarce group of pioneer cards.

1902, 1¢ Black on Buff, Exhibit Collection, mounted specialized exhibit collection of nearly 7 frames plus some extra unmounted material like two S22Pa proofs ($500 each), S22PSb ($250), wide range of material including production varieties with dramatic miscuts, damaged plates, damaged inscriptions, offsets, usages include from U.S. Postal Agency in Shanghai, usages from abroad incl. Canada, Mexico, usages abroad incl Java, Fiji, Japan, 1¢ rate to Philippines, foreign postage dues, special delivery, machine cancels, auxiliary markings, advertising, street car RPOs, postage due usages, etc.; cards with minor toning on reverse from mounting, but overlapped cards also with toning on front, F.-V.F., a wonderful study of the McKinley Memorial postal card issue.
