Confederacy, Houston Tex, Mar 9, 1861, cds on orange cover bearing U.S. 3¢ dull red (26) to Wallace Lake P.O., De Soto Parish, Louisiana, "Mansfield La., Mar 18" cds and forwarded to Kingston, manuscript "Due P.M. 3¢" rating, F.-V.F., a scarce forwarded cover.
Estimate    $200 - 300.

This was sent just four days after Texas joined the Confederacy on March 5th 1861.
