Silver and Tortoiseshell Desk Set, George Betjeman & Sons (London) 1904, sterling and tortoiseshell stamp box and inkstand combination (209x95mm), flared rectangular tortoiseshell base with silver feet, silver stand at center with fine cut glass inkwell with silver hinged lid, two stamp boxes at either side with hinged side opening lids engraved "Stamps" in script, single gold wash ramped compartments, pen rest brackets at front, a wonderful combination desk set of the highest quality, very rare.
Estimate    $2,000 - 3,000.

Silver Box, John Grinsell & Sons (Birmingham) 1905, sterling stamp box, calendar, inkwell and watch combination (71x115mm), desktop style on balled feet, with front window inset lid showing calendar, hinged pull down lid with two pocket compartment on backside of lid, curved pen rest just behind lid, central top with hinged front opening lid revealing watch (in working order) incorporated in lid and inkwell, very fine and rare.

Silver Box, Stokes & Ireland (Chester) 1903, sterling stamp box and inkwells combination (221x98mm) tray desk set form with balled feet plain base and box with rope edging, central stamp box with hinged lid and two ramped compartment, gold wash interior, mounts at sides with two crystal cut glass inkwells with matching hinged silver lids.
