Postal Card, 1897, 1¢ black on buff, entire uprated with 1898, 1¢ green (279) and sent from the Commander of German warship SMS Geier at St. Thomas, V.I. to German Naval Commander (Corvette Class) in Berlin, Germany on August 18, 1898 after leaving Havana, Cuba during the Spanish American War, with St. Thomas transit, "T" handstamp and German receiver, rate "40" due, Very Fine.
