New Zealand, 1871, Queen Victoria "Chalon Head", 2d orange, perf 12½, Large Star watermark, in combination with 1871, 6d blue, perf 12½, Large Star watermark (135) on bank cover to Invercargill paying 8d for the book packet rate between 4-8oz., canceled by "Mataura, Otago, N.Z., Oc 20" cds and barred "O22" oval duplexes, with "Per Post" endorsement at left, receiving backstamp; cover reduced at top with small portion upper backflap removed, otherwise Very Fine, a scarce book packet rate, with the abolition of the special banker's parcel class on August 1, 1872.
