(Tulare) Camp Badger, Cal., Aug 12, 1882, clear sharp cds (TUL-320) on cover to Lemoore, franked with 3¢ Banknote (s.e.'s) tied by target handstamp; cover a bit reduced, Very Fine and choice, the earliest recorded example of Camp Badger's first postmark (photo on web site).

(Tulare) Churchhill, Cal., Dec 31, 1887, bold cds (TUL-370) with matching quartered cork handstamp canceling on 1884, 2¢ brown entire to Visalia, reverse with perfect strike of violet "Visalia, Calif., Received, Dec 31, 1887" cds (Williams unrecorded), Extremely Fine, the earliest recorded Churchill postmark and entire bearing two rare postmarks (photo on web site).

(Tulare) Cramer, Cal. 6/23, manuscript postmark (Williams unrecorded) tying 1882-83, 2¢ red brown + 5¢ brown, two singles on registered corner card cover to Boston, Mass., reverse with 1886 receiving postmark, Very Fine, the unique manuscript postmark from Cramer shortly before it's first handstamp postmark known used in November of 1886.

(Tulare) Hunsaker, Cal., Jun 23, 1877, manuscript postmark (Williams "no postmarks recorded") tying manuscript canceled 3¢ Banknote on cover to Mr. M.J. Hunsaker in Le Sueur, Minn.; cover reduced at left and faint soiling, still Very Fine, one of two known manuscript postmarks.

(Tulare) Kaweah, Cal., Feb 21 1891, manuscript provisional town with "Advance" name crossed out in cds (Williams "no postmarks recorded" for Advance) two months after close of Advance P.O. (Williams unrecorded), on 1887, 2¢ green entire to San Francisco; reduced at right and slight soiling, F.-V.F., a unique provisional usage of a moved post office, one of the rarest Tulare covers.
Estimate    $300 - 400.

Advance was the maxim of the Kaweah Cooperative Commonwealth Colony, founders of the community.
