Guatemala, 1878, Indian Women, ½r yellow green, single franking used on cover to Guatemala City, tied by bold barred "7" oval handstamp with blue "Correos de San Marcos, Mar 8, 1879" cds; some minor cover edge wear at left, Very Fine, this cover is listed in Goodman (page 84) as being the second earliest single franking, with just three such covers recorded, ex-L. Cervera.

Guatemala, 1878, Indian Women, 2r carmine rose, an early usage of a single example on the famous 1878 part cover to London, England from the Matthews correspondence, endorsed "via Belize" with an additional 2r single reduced out at right, tied by bold barred "18" oval handstamp with matching "Correos de Zacapa, Ago 3, 1878" origin cds, in combination with British Honduras 1877, 1sh green, perf. 14 (12) applied in transit and tied by barred "O" oval handstamp, matching "Belize, Au 15, 78" cds at right, as Guatemala had yet to join the U.P.U., London cds of arrival (Sept 12) on reverse; reduced at right for better display, illustrated prior to this event in Goodman (page 86), otherwise Very Fine, ex-L. Cervera, Lange & Spycher; with 2009 Moorhouse certificate.

Guatemala, 1878, Indian Women, 4r violet, single franking on cover to Berlin, Germany, tied by neat barred "25" oval handstamp, with superb strike of red "Correos, Coban, Ago 28, 1878" origin cds, "T/1-10" accountancy mark in blue (Guatemala did not join the UPU until 1881) in London and charged "125" pfg. due in blue, reverse with red Guatemala City and London transit cds's, Extremely Fine, this cover is unrecorded by Goodman, however a similar cover from this correspondence is illustrated on page 239; with 1997 Moorhouse certificate.
