Transatlantic Mails, 1810s-1850s, collection balance of 70 covers, include 1820 London, England to Philadelphia Pa. with olive green "Ship Atlantic, Sailed Dec 17, W Matlock" oval; 1841 New Orleans to Lyon, France with Gilpin's Exchange and Collomb & Iselin forwarder ovals; 1840 Miles, Mich. to Ireland with red New York cds and "Waterford / Ship Letter" two-line handstamp; 1833 Rochester N.Y. to England at 1¼oz. multiple rate; 1817 Nanjemoy Md. to Scotland with ½d toll road tax handstamp; 1836 St. Petersburg, Russia to Boston Mass.; 1820 "Grecian Archipelago of Scio" via New York "Ship" to Hadley Mass.; etc., ex-Pullin.

Transatlantic Mails, 1841-56, better group of 24 transatlantic covers including three choice Harndens uses comprising 1841 Philadelphia Pa. to Heath G.B. with red Harden's Philadelphia circular handstamp, 1841 New Orleans La. to Heath G.B. private carried to New York with superb Harnden's New York oval, and last is sharp "Paid to Boston, Liverpool" shield handstamp on cover to Boston endorsed per "Britania", other transatlantics include 1854 Rothesay, Scotland to San Francisco with red crayon "1/2½" rating; 1848 Manchester, England to Philadelphia on last retaliatory voyage; 1848 London, England to Boston Mass. carried by pioneer Steamship "Sarah Sands", and 1847 Turkey to Boston via Ocean Line "Washington" with discriminatory rating, etc.; many premium uses.

Transatlantic Sailing Packets, 1818-1848, collection of over 140 covers sort by year with a wide range of packet ships and lines including Black Ball, Blue Star, Red Star, Black X, Blue Swallowtail, Red Swallowtail and Dramatic, few earlier are pre-packets, some better uses noted: 1842 "Ship Letter Liverpool" by Black Ball Line Oxford to New York; 1841 Mexico to London via forwarder Schmidt, New Orleans; 1846 Jackson Mich. to London; 1848 Mexico to London via New York forwarder by Dramatic Line Garrick; 1847 New York to Scotland via Black Ball Fidelia; 1848 London to New York on Red Swallowtail Independence to avoid retaliatory rate; etc.; some mixed condition but a fabulous opportunity for research, ex-Pullin.

Transatlantic Stamped Mail incoming from Europe, 1856-1902, attractive group of 20 covers and cards with many to San Francisco, including 1873 Wurttemburg 3kr entire plus 3kr (2) to Cal., 1861 London with/1d, 2d, 1s to Vancouver Island via U.S., 1870 Bavaria 7kr (2) to San Francisco; 1868 Italy to San Francisco; 1861 France with/ 20c blue strip/4 to San Francisco; 1855 Ballymena, Ireland with GB 1s (strip/3) and 1s green embossed to San Francisco, etc; some mixed condition, an interesting group with some potential.

US-French Transatlantic Mails, 1820s-1848, wonderful large collection of over 190 covers with mostly sailing packets, note 1820 Boston Mass. to France via "Falcon" to Liverpool and red "Angleterre" straightline struck (Vdl 165 -Rarity 7); 1827 Savannah Ga. to Marseilles, France with French Consulate handstamp and reporting on dengue fever epidemic; 1833 New Harmony Ind. to France via UK with red "Angleterre" straightline (cover torn); 1845 Le Havre, France to New York by Union Line Argo; 1849 Savannah Ga. to France via French Sailing Packet to avoid UK-US treaty rate charges; 1845 Toledo Oh. "Paid 25¢" to Wurttemberg by French packet; 1844 Philadelphia to France endorsed via Havre Packet but privately carried to London where "Colonies, &c.ART.12." framed accountancy struck, 1843 New Haven Ct. to France on Havre packet, etc., ex-Pullin.
