1857, 1¢ blue, type IV, two singles, clear impression, each cancelled by circular grid cancel, on blue 1857 printed circular from Philadelphia Pa. to Plymouth, England, carried as endorsed by Collins Line Atlantic from New York Oct. 27th to Liverpool arriving Nov. 7th, blue Plymouth (11.10) double-arc arrival backstamp and bold blue "2" pence due handstamp, Very Fine and scarce type IV printed matter use.

1857, 1¢ blue, type V, tied by "Cardiff, Au 10, 59" cds and barred "162" oval duplex on unpaid cover from Wales, England to Lincolnville, Maine, "19 Cents" debit handstamp and manuscript "Due 24 cents" at top left, "Boston, Br. Packet, 24, Aug 27" entry cds, reverse with Liverpool transit cds; slight cover wrinkling and reduced at left, Very Fine, very unusual; with 2020 P.F. certificate.

Pkt, Feb 5" cds and "4.R.s" inland rate handstamp, reverse with London transit and receiving backstamps, Very Fine and choice; signed S. Ashbrook.

1857, 10¢ green, type III, horizontal strip of three, scissor separated with perfs clipped from the top, in combination with 1857, 3¢ dull red (26, s.e. at right) on cover to Bangkok, Thailand from the House correspondence, tied by red grid handstamps with matching "New Haven, Con., Nov 8, 1858" origin cds, endorsed "via Southampton & Singapore", "28" cent credit rating and "12" rating handstamp obliterated by grid handstamp, red London Paid transit cds, red "Boston Br. Pkt., Nov 9" exchange backstamp, docketed as received January 16, 1860 on reverse; address panel and endorsement lightened, F.-V.F., a scarce use to Siam.
Scott No. 33    Estimate $750 - 1,000.

Cover was prepaid at the 33¢ British mail rate via Southampton effective April 1, 1858 to August 30, 1861. The 28¢ credit to Great Britain was 16¢ transatlantic plus 12¢ British transit.
