1864 (Oct. 8) New York N.Y. to Dresden, Saxony, cover bearing on reverse 3¢ rose (65), ten in two strips of four and two singles, all tied by strikes of NYFM red circular grids, matching "N.York, Br. Pkt. '7 Paid' Oct 8" credit exchange cds, carried by Inman Line City of Baltimore from New York Oct. 8th to Queenstown arriving Oct. 18th, red "Aachen, Franco, 19/10" framed transit; opened on three sides with small mends at left, otherwise Very Fine and attractive franking convenience overpaying 28¢ Prussian Closed Mail.

Pkt. 'Paid' May 8" exchange cds and red crayon "28" cent credit, carried by Cunard Line Persia from New York May 3rd to Queenstown arriving May 13th, blue "Aachen, Franco 16/5" framed transit, May 17th arrival backstamp; one 30¢ stamp rounded corner, small cover tear at top right and part of backflap missing, Very Fine and attractive franking prepaying quadruple the 28¢ Prussian Closed Mail rate to Italy, ex-Dupuy, Gliedman.

Pkt '7 Paid' Mar 7" credit exchange cds also ties pair, carried by Cunard Line Cuba from New York Mar. 7th to Liverpool arriving Mar. 18th, blue "Aachen Franco 20/3" framed transit, various backstamps including Stuttgart (3.10) cds, F.-V.F.

'7 Paid' May 1" credit exchange cds, carried by Cunard Line Scotia from New York May 1st to Queenstown arriving May 10th, blue "Aachen, Franco" framed transit, bold May 13th arrival backstamp, Very Fine and attractive use apparently overpaying the 30¢ Prussian Closed Mail rate.

Elil & Co., Tobacconists" oval corner card handstamp bearing 30¢ orange (71), radiant color, tied by target duplexed with "Bloomington Ill. Jun 19" double-circle datestamp, red "N. York, Br. Pkt. '7 Paid' Jun 22" credit exchange datestamp, carried by Inman Line City of Antwerp from New York Jun. 22nd to Queenstown arriving Jul. 2nd, blue boxed "Aachen, Franco, 4/7" datestamp, Nentershausen (7.5) arrival backstamp, Very Fine and attractive use overpaying by 2¢ the 28¢ Prussian Closed Mail rate which became effective September 1861 for prepaid letters. The new rate, however was widely ignored., ex-Curtis.

'7 Paid' Nov 30" credit exchange cds, carried by Inman Line City of Washington from New York Nov. 30th to Queenstown arriving Dec. 12th, blue "Aachen Franco (12.13) framed transit, reverse with blue Ottendorf (12.14) framed transit and Altenbruch (12.14) arrival cds, forwarded to Bremervörde; some light soiling, F.-V.F.
