Dr. Mott's Vegetable Liver Pills Medicine Group, three wood ovals, two with tax stamps, one with facsimile; three examples of wood oval for Dr. Mott's Vegetable Liver Pills each with the same wrapper but two with different tax stamps and one with a facsimile stamp, one has John Henry RS114 stamp, another has a Bennett RS30 stamp (some wax over stamp), and a third with a John Henry facsimile stamp, Fine, a rare opportunity to obtain stamps used on the package as the product was produced by different companies.

Lot 1958

Dr. McLean's Plaster with RS170, Dr. J.H. McLean's Wonderful Healing Plaster cylinder product inside wrapper, McLean, Dr. J.H., 1¢ black, old paper (RS170) stamp covers one end of the cylinder, F.-V.F., rare to see a completely originally sealed product with a tax stamp.

Dr. Harter's Bottle and Wrapper with RS98, 5¾" tall bottle embossed Dr. Harter's Fever & Ague Specific with complete front and back labels and contents, wrapper has a vertical pair of RS98 tax stamps, flyer inside the wrapper, F.-V.F., rare.

Medicine Labels and Wrappers, group of 12 labels and wrappers from 9 companies that issued proprietary die medicine stamps; includes engraved Brandreth box wrapper, Wright Indian Vegetable Pill Co. "One Dozen Boxes" label with specimen overprint, B.A. Fahnstocks Vermifuge label, Jayne's Expectorant, etc., Very Fine, list of the companies for the labels and wrappers is available upon request.

Perry Davis Wrapper & Flyer with Medicine Stamp, 11½" x 6¼" wrapper & flyer inserted with bottle with Davis & Son, 1¢ blue, silk paper used to seal the flyer around the bottle; stamp torn in half when removed from around the bottle with half of the stamp remaining on each end of the flyer, F.-V.F.

Fleming Bros. Early Broadsheet Advertisement, 12 1/8"x9½" illustrated sheet for Dr. McLane's Celebrated Vermifuge and Liver Pills (RS88-90), showing female allegories at top and package wrapper design at center, with additional ad text on reverse, printed by Rawdon, Wright, Hatch & Edson who were in business from 1847-58; usual folds and minor tone spot, Very Fine and scarce.
