Danish West Indies, 1871 (Dec. 12) San Juan, Puerto Rico to New York N.Y. via St. Thomas, blue folded cover with red "Porto-Rico, De 12, 71" cds and black "C61" barred oval ties G.B. 4d vermilion, St. Thomas (12.13) transit backstamp, carried by US Brazil Line from St. Thomas Dec. 13th to New York arriving Dec. 19th, partial "N.Y. Steamship '10' Dec 19" integral-rate due cds; file fold slightly affects 4d, otherwise Very Fine and fresh.

Danish West Indies, 1873 (Feb. 24) Guayaquil, Ecuador to Vera Cruz, Mexico via St. Thomas, folded cover bearing Great Britain, 2s blue, pl. 1 (SG Z29), tied by "C41" barred oval, matching "Guayaquil, Fe 24, 1873" double-arc backstamp, "Panama, Transit" (2.28) three-line transit, St. Thomas (3.15) transit backstamp; some erosion along fold, a Very Fine and striking use.

Danish West Indies, 1873 (Mar.) Valparaiso, Chile to London, England via St. Thomas, cover endorsed "From Harry Newbold, Armourer, On Board H.M.S. Nereuse, Valparaiso" at top and counter-signed "William Sharp, commanding Officer" tying G.B. 1d red pair, faults from edge placement, cancelled and tied through perfs by St. Thomas "C51" barred oval, red London Paid (4.14.73) arrival cds and various backstamps; small faults, no flap, still Very Fine Naval cover from Valparaiso; with 1995 Paaskesen certificate.

Paris" (1.19) entry cds and matching "10" decimes due handstamp, crossed out in ms. and updated to correct double-weight "16" decimes due, blue crayon "1" and "2" for single and double rates, additional blue crayon "30" rating, Bordeaux (6.20) arrival backstamp, Very Fine and rare use via the HAPAG West India Line.
