Cover Accumulation, 1860s-1940s, great lot of 500 covers and cards including corner cards, postal cards, transit markings, postal markings, and much more.

Lot 2441    

Cover Balance, main value in about a hundred 1800's advertising covers, kerosene stoves, hotels, horses, wagons, human hair, later items such as tires and batteries, Dixie Hound Kennels, multi-color 1909 front and back Flexible Flyer (trimmed into indicia), quite a few earlies such as #'s 11 (might be a 10 or two), 26, 65, and on into banknotes, several DPO's, several manuscripts, 50 or so nondescript 2¢ red brown 210's, this group is well padded with 1930’s first days and later and a nice grouping of U.S. airs in a Safe Cover album including nice #C1 pair, and finally a few foreign. A total of 400 or 500 items. Generally fine to very fine, but some earlies are quite rough.
Estimate    $300 - 400.

Postal History Balance, 1850-1900's, of 26 covers; includes 1850's Louisville, Ky. red cameo corner card use, orange Butternut, N.Y. cds tying #26, 1860;s usages with Street Address oval auxiliary handstamp, nice group of 2¢ Blackjack usages, 1869 Pictorials including a run of 3¢ usages with fancy cancels, green Oswego, N.Y. circle of wedges, etc., few Banknotes including 15¢ usage to Austria and allover U.S. ad cover, also a $10 banknote sheet bearing Franklin and Washington portraits similar to the one used for the 1851-57 issues, etc.

Turn-of-the-Century Cover Group, 1890-1904, 28 covers; includes small banknote and bureau definitive issue usages including ad covers, to Mexico and registered to Holland, legal size usage to Trinidad, 1902 definitives with foreign usages and multicolored allover ad, Trans-Miss issues including 8¢+10¢ registered usage, Louisiana issue with 10¢ on mourning cover to Germany, etc.

United States Better Cover Group, 60 19th century better and interesting items (mostly covers ad folded letters); includes 1790 letter, 1864 small cover with neat Fort Union, New Mexico cancel and a beautiful folded letter to Switzerland franked with 3 #32 (1857 10¢ type II, probably was a strip of 3) and a #28 (1857 5¢ Red Brown) all nicely tied and with all proper postmarks; a great old time lot.
