"U.S.S. Marion, Lisbon, Portugal, July 23rd 1876", datelined enclosed letter with original cover bearing Portugal, 50r green tied by grid cancel and "Lisbon, 25 / 7, 1876" cds to Athol, Mass., red London Paid (7.29) and New York Paid All (8.9) transit cds, Very Fine.

1846-48 Mexican-American War, group of 6 comprising two "Belonging to the Army" free uses 1847 Saco Me. to Lt. Whitten of 9th U.S. Infantry in Vera Cruz, 1848 Houton Me. free to Lt. Brown of Co. C 1st Artillery at Saltillo, Mexico forwarded back to Buffalo with "Brazos St. Jago" cds and "10" rating as mail was not free from soldiers in Mexico; four letters from Army Surgeon C.M. Hitchcock in route to Mexico including aboard S.S. Gladiator, Wash. City, San Antonio and Tampico, F.-V.F. and interesting group with some content.

Ag., Registered Sep 28 1914" backstamps; small left edge tear, Very Fine.
