New York, N.Y., 1845, 5¢ black on bluish, two singles, clear to large margins, slightly overlapping on folded letter sheet to Pittsburgh, Pa., tied by red "New York, 10 cts" cds and square grid handstamps, two strikes of matching arched "Paid" handstamp; right stamp lifted and hinged back in place, Very Fine.

St. Louis, Mo., 1846, 10¢ black on gray lilac, type II, position 4, large to huge margins, tied on manuscript cancel on 1846 folded letter sheet to Philadelphia, Pa., red "St. Louis, Mo., May 15" cds with matching Paid handstamp and manuscript "10" rating; vertical file fold affecting stamp, Very Fine appearance, a very handsome appearing on cover example of this 10¢ St. Louis Postmaster Provisional; with 1956 A.P.S. and 2005 Behr certificates.

Key West was served during this time period by the steamer "Isabel" on the Charleston and Havana route.
