The Telegraph Office was in Silver Lake Railway Depot where the Station Agent cancelled the adhesive with the railway station handstamp.

Envelope put onto Route 9177 on June 18th circa 1857 west to Xenia for transfer onto Route 9306 for Springfield. Transferred 77 miles northward to St. Mary's.

Put onto Route 2234 for 84 miles north to Springfield. Transferred to the 42112 post road east for Columbus. The Columbia & Xenia railroad not being completed until December 1850.

(Logansport to Peoria) Peoria & Logansport R.R., Sep 28, route agent cds cancels 1¢ Postal Card (UX3) datelined "El Paso, Sept 27th/75" to Pekin, Ill.; closed spindle hole, otherwise Very Fine, Rarity V.

Put onto Route 23027 and carried 23 miles west to Peoria for transfer to Pekin.

The Route Agent service between Logansport, Indiana and Peoria, Illinois was performed over the course of two contracts in 1875. Route 22013 between Logansport and the Indiana State Line by the Pittsburgh, Cincinnati & St. Louis of 61 miles at $4,575 a year and State Line to Peoria on Route 23027. The latter was 228¾ miles State Line to Warsaw at $16,612 a year with the Toledo, Peoria & Warsaw Rail Road. The service was for a daily trip excluding Sundays.
