1857, 10¢ green, type II, two singles and strip of four, right two stamps damaged, used with 5¢ red brown (28), tied by multiple strikes of blue "Norfolk Va., Apr 4, 1859" cds on cover to Funchal, Madeira, "Boston, Am. Pkt., Apr 8" exchange backstamp and red crayon "44" cent credit to G.B., carried by Inman Line Kangaroo from New York Apr. 9th to Liverpool arriving Apr. 23rd, red London Paid (4.25) transit cds, Portugal "160" reis due handstamp; stamps with small faults including some perf toning, Fine and rare 1857 Issue use at the 65¢ rate to Madeira; signed Ashbrook on reverse.
