A RARE UNUSED EXAMPLE OF THE 1864 1¢ NUMERAL ON LAID PAPER WITH THE "HA" VARIETY AND DROPPED "E" AT LEFT.
The type at left, "HAWAIIAN POSTAGE.", is known in seven stages or states on this plate. This is the Fourth State showing only the "HA" and "E", with the "E" dropped down in comparison to earlier states.
