Canal Zone - Zeppelin Flights

Canal Zone, 1930 Pan-American Flight (Sieger 64IIIb), large flight cover bearing 25¢ Air Mail stamps (C3) block of six and pair, tied by target cancels and "Cristobal C.Z., May 15, 1930" cds duplex, red Zeppelin "Mit Luftschiff, Graf Zeppelin Befordert" oval cachet, reverse with Havana (5.16), Seville (6.4) transits and Friedrichshafen (6.6) receiving datestamp, Very Fine, Very Fine and rare Canal Zone posting with only a few covers recorded.
Estimate    $1,000 - 1,500.

This was flown to Havana where it was intended to board the Zeppelin, but since the Zeppelin did not stop in Havana as planned, it was taken by ship to Seville, where it boarded the last leg from Seville to Friedrichshafen.
