Mauritius, 1859, Dardenne issue, 1d dull vermilion, vertical strip of four, margin ample to touching at lower left, rich color, tied by mute barred oval handstamps on folded letter sheet to Paris, France and forwarded to Trouville, "16" decimes due handstamp and red Suez transit cds, reverse with "G.P.O. Mauritius, Au 7, 1860" despatch, Calais transit and receiving cds's; bottom stamp with corner crease ending in closed tear, otherwise Very Fine; with 2022 B.P.A. certificate. Scott No. 16.
