(Valentines) 1860s-1900s Penny Dreadful Comics and Valentines, collection of 120 with mostly being 19th century 9.5"x7" original dreadfuls, most created by American Cartoonist Charles Howard who worked for publisher John McLaughlin (a stylized "H" is visible somewhere, sometimes in the design), later copies of dreadfuls present were used as valentines and have hearts added to them, some better designs include "Brains Wanted", "Cheap, A Shopwarn Valentine", "A Boozy Valentine", etc.; good overall condition, scarce group of mostly earlier dreadful designs.
Estimate    $750 - 1,000.
