1866, 15¢ black, tied by circle of wedges duplexed with "Buffalo N.Y." cds on small cover from the Shepard correspondence to Frankfurt, Prussia in care of U.S. Consul W.W. Murphy, partial red "N. York 'Paid 12' Brem. Pkt. Oct 10" credit exchange cds, carried by NGL Line America from New York Oct. 10th to Bremen arriving Oct. 23rd, blue "America/über Bremen/Franco" three-line exchange handstamp, forwarded prepaid by consul with Prussia 1867, 1kr green (23) four margins, tied by Frankfurt (10.24) cds to Hotel D'Angleterre; small edge tears, 1kr small flaws from fold-over, Very Fine and colorful forwarded use sent at the 15¢ Bremen-Hamburg packet rate.

ONE OF ONLY TWO RECORDED 1861 ISSUE USES FORWARDED IN PRUSSIA, THIS BEING THE ONLY ONE SENT BY BREMEN MAILS.

The other recorded forwarded use is also from the Shephard correspondence dated Aug. 29th 1867 from Buffalo sent by Hamburg mails (ex-Ishikawa, Ainsworth).
