1929, 2¢ Washington, type II, horizontal rotary press coil, guide line strip of 5 & plain strip of 5 canceled with mute double ovals on a registered cover (window envelope) from Los Angeles on May 5, 1930; apparently originally addressed locally then redirected to San Francisco, then to Madison, Wis., and, finally, returned to sender with a final Los Angeles backstamp on May 26 and numerous intermediate handstamps; slight tear in glassine "window", otherwise Very Fine, ex-Griffith. Scott No. 599A Estimate $400 - 600.
