New York, N.Y., 1846, 5¢ black on bluish, signed "A.C.M.", Position 13, full margins to clear, tied by partial strike of red "New-York '5 Paid' Sep 30" integral-rate cds, second clear strike at left, on 1845 printed circular to Marseilles, France, carried as endorsed by Cunard Line Britannia from Boston Oct. 1st to Liverpool arriving Oct. 14th, red London (10.15) transit backstamp and matching red "Colonies/&c. Art. 12" Anglo-French accountancy handstamp, red Boulogne (10.17) entry cds and manuscript "21" decimes due rating, Paris (10.17) and Marseilles (10.20) backstamps; part of address crossed out, fresh and Very Fine, a scarce use of this A.C.M. with Periods initials variety on a transatlantic cover; with 2020 P.F. certificate.
