A REMARKABLE USED EXAMPLE OF THE 1¢ TYPE I 1857 PERFORATED ISSUE, GRADED XF-SUPERB 95 BY THE P.S.E., THE HIGHEST GRADE AWARDED.
The perforated Type I stamps were produced from C Relief positions on Plate 12. This stamp has complete plumes at bottom, yet the top right is almost completely missing. Dick Celler plated this as position 88R12 despite other examples of this position showing full the complete design.
