El Dorado Canyon, Nev., cds with matching cancel ties 2¢ red brown (210) on cover to Englewood, Ill., original "Southwestern Mining Co." letterhead enclosure datelined "Ell Derado Canon, May 16, 1886" to his daughter, mentions extreme heat over 100°, no news from steamer and some mining info; reduced slightly at left, F.-V.F. and rare mining town use.

El Dorado Canon, Nevada was one of only a handful of southern Nevada post offices in the 1800s. Located on the Colorado River below the present site of the Hoover Dam, the area was part of Lincoln County until Clark County was established in 1909.
