1861, 3¢ rose, tied by "Washington, D.C., Feb 13" cds on a beautiful allover Romeo & Juliet Valentine envelope in red, brown & pale blue (virtually identical to the Civil War patriotic "Soldier's Farewell" envelope but with the figure of "Romeo" substituted for the Union soldier), to Elizabethtown, Pa., with Valentine enclosure with American flag clad tent vignette which opens to show soldier at desk with apparition of sweetheart in background, "True To Thee" verse below; cover with a couple small edge tears, Very Fine, an attractive example of this rare Valentine patriotic and enclosure.
