Hawaii, 1863, Numeral, 2¢ black on grayish, plate 3-D, type V, position 5, large margins, tied by oval "Collectors Office, Hilo Hawaii" handstamp (211) on 1860 folded letter sheet addressed to Levi Haalelea in Honolulu, some light file fold not affecting stamp, Extremely Fine, ex-Admiral Harris & Golden; with 2011 P.F. certificate.

Levi Haalelea was the son of Ha'alou, governor of Molokai under Kalaimoku. His mother was Kaipa (Kipa). Upon his marriage to Princess Kekauonohi (granddaughter of Kamehameha I) about 1848, perhaps, he was elevated to chief.
