1909, 5¢ blue, on bluish paper, o.g., lightly hinged, rich color on clearly blued paper, well centered, Very Fine; Small "HFC" (H. F. Colman) backstamp, with 1972 & 1997 P.F. certificates.

A WONDERFUL EXAMPLE OF THE 5¢ BLUISH PAPER, WHICH IS THE RAREST OF ALL THE BLUISH PAPERS AFTER THE 4¢ AND 8¢ VALUES.

H.F. Colman was a Washington, D.C. Stamp Dealer who was involved in numerous trades with the National Museum including the 1914 National Museum exchange, in which Mr. Colman received a very limited supply of the Bluish Papers including (12 copies) of the 4¢ and 8¢ values.
