Sloane" in Columbia, S.C., postmarked "Anderson, C.H., S.C. Dec. 23", flap torn & minor stain, F.-V.F.; with 1977 C.S.A. certificate.

THERE ARE ONLY THREE RECORDED EXAMPLES (ONE MINT & TWO USED) OF THIS ENTIRE AND THIS IS THE ONLY EXAMPLE WITH BOTH THE POSTMASTERS' PROVISIONAL HANDSTAMP AND TOWN MARKING OF ANDERSON COURT HOUSE.

A GREAT CONFEDERATE RARITY DESPITE THE MODEST CATALOG VALUE.

The other known used example was recently sold by us (Sale 106, Lot 994) for $2,700 hammer price.
