Panorama of Washington, multicolored three-panel legal-size Magnus patriotic design on cover to Lumber City, Pa., franked with 1861, 3¢ rose, two singles (65) at lower corners and tied by "Washington D.C., Oct 3, 1862" cds's, accompanied by original "Panorama of Washington" Magnus broadside enclosure with 33 different Magnus multicolored illustrations depicting scenes of Washington D.C. and Washington's portrait bordered by "First in War, First in Peace, and First in the Hearts of His Countrymen" inscription, in an eight-part foldout; stamp flaws with repairs to right stamp, some cover wear and broadside with fly specking, Fine, a presentable and very rare used example of this "Crown Jewel" of Magnus patriotic covers, only a handful are known.Estimate $1,500 - 2,000.
