AN OUTSTANDING EXAMPLE OF THE 1893 4¢ COLUMBIAN, BLUE COLOR ERROR.
The 4¢ Columbian color error is believed to have resulted from the use of an incorrect batch of ink, and spectrographic analysis has shown that the blue ink found on the 4¢ error matches the composition of the ink used for the 1¢ stamp in the Columbian Exposition Issue.
