Oval postmark on 1815 folded letter sheet to Cincinnati forwarded to Marietta, Ohio, manuscript "Paid 18¾" rate, "Forwarded Cincinnati 18 Dec 1815" over origin postmark and re-rated "25½" just beneath the original rate mark, initially paid rate of 18¾¢ based on the 12½¢ zone rate for 90-150 miles plus 50% increase or 6¼¢ war rate, forwarding rate of 25½¢ from Cincinnati to Marietta was in the 150-300 miles zone with an initial rate of 17¢ plus 50% increase or 8½¢ war rate; sealed tear at top not detracting, F.-V.F.
