Hong Kong, 1938 Postal-Fiscal usages. 4 items; postal (2) and fiscal (2) use; 5c stamp duty adhesive was authorized for postal use Jan 11-18, 1938, due to a shortage of KGV 5c postage stamps. Commercial postal uses of this 5c fiscal are not common. 1) cancelled 12 JA 38 to Canton, with bilingual "Canton 13.1.27" and two other native back-stamps. 2) Album page with cover to Canton cancelled 18 JA 38, with bilingual "Canton 19.1.27" and bilingual "Canton S.O. No 4 19.1.27". Page also includes single used 5c, and 5c fiscal with pair of 4c KGV, cancelled 4 DE 13: unauthorized postal use. 3) Large check imprinted "Chartered Bank of India, Australia and China, bearing KE 50c yellow fiscal tied red "Hong Kong Stamp Duty" hand-stamp. 4) Form of Affidavit To Be Used in Lieu of a Passport, bearing KGVI 6d and KGV 1/- Consular Service stamps, cancelled "British Consulate General Chicago 17 Jan 51", with adjacent hand-stamp, same wording with GB coat-of-arms in center, Very Fine.Estimate $150 - 200.
