Confederacy, Danville, Va., 1861, 10¢ red on yellow, ornately printed provisional envelope addressed to Pamplins Depot, Va.; postmarked with Danville, Va. cds which has been partially torn off and replaced, Very Fine appearance, rare, Ex-Ferrari, Walcott; with 1994 P.S.E. certificate.

It is thought that these 10¢ entires were prepared, but never used as Provisionals. In all likelihood, the unused envelopes were used by the Postmaster as normal envelopes with adhesives affixed.
