Confederacy, 10-Star Flag With Blank Streamer (type F10-11) design on soldier's cover with due marking not present but understood, with indistinct cds and docketing of "Private D.N. Miller, Co. H., 38th Regt" to New Hope, N.C. via Thomasville; Miller is listed in the service records as a 23-year old farmer who was killed on 6-26-62 at Mechanicsville, Va which narrows the time frame of this use as he enlisted in November 1861; the unit had 19 killed and 122 wounded in that battle, Very Fine and scarce.
