Large bold oval oval agent handstamp on 1838 folded letter sheet to San Antonio de Bexar, struck over red "Pend, S.C., Jun 14" origin cds with manuscript "Paid 25" crossed out and re-rated "56¼" (double 25¢ rate plus 6¼ ship rate), with "Galveston, Texas, July 4" oval date stamp alongside; reinforced file fold splitting and some paper loss, Fine, a rare Texas Republic agent usage.
