1893 Columbian Exposition, Chicago, Ill. Postcard Collection. A wonderful balance lot of Columbian Exposition cards, both privately issued and on Government Postal cards, many better mint singles & sets present, included is 17 mint & used Goldsmith cards (Megson GB70, Cat $150 each), 43 mint & one used post card by Schachner (Megson GB160 cat. $200 each), a complete set (mixed mint & used) of various multi-color views on 1¢ Postal cards (Megson GB230, cat $600 each), plus 14 mint & used cards from same manufacturer, but not on Postal cards (Megson GB230A, cat, $250 each), 16 mint Goldsmith Envelopes for the first series of cards, 7 mint & one used Puck 1¢ Postal cards including the rare "Brown Torches" variety (Megson GB150, cat $125 each, "Brown Torches" cat. $400), four multicolor 1¢ Postal cards showing the Machinery Building & Columbus Portrait in orange circle, one used to Germany with World's Fair Sta. Numeral "2" duplex cancel (Megson GB260V1, cat. $150 each), 10 Koehler 1¢ Postal cards (not a complete. set) with original package envelope, mixed mint & used (Megson GB120, cat. $52 each), two used & one mint 1¢ Postal cards with multi-color design, one used to Germany & one with rare "Unmailable" straight line handstamp due to written message on the address panel (Bomar C93-06A) (Megson GB220, Cat. $190 each), plus a nice variety of Goldsmith cards mint & used, mixed condition a great lot worth careful inspection.
