Boston, Mass., 1849-50, 1¢ blue. Margins ample to in at sides (scissor cut in margin and gum reside on face), tied by fancy circular handstamp on cover front to Proffesor C.C. Jewett, the Smithsonian librarian in Washington D.C., in combination with 1847, 5¢ brown (faint corner creases) tied by red grid cancels, matching "Boston, 10cts, Apr 13" cds, with manuscript "Paid 10" and "Due 5" rate notations, F.-V.F., ex Chapman; with 2009 P.F. certificate.
