Langton's Pioneer Express (1855-1865). 28 covers including one plain envelope with 1851 3¢ plus two 1853 3¢ Nesbitt entires all without franks, 15 1853 3c or 10c Nesbitt entires with ovate printed frank, eight 1861 3¢ pink or 10¢ green entires with ovate printed frank with larger letters, and two 1864 3¢ pink entires with later printed frank, all California origins and destinations or eastbound uses (except one cover with Downieville printed corner card to Carson City), one conjunctive use with Pacific and a number of conjunctive uses with Wells Fargo, company handstamps from Columbia Hill, Downieville, Forest City, Marysville, Moore's Flat, Orleans Flat, and San Juan, earlier eastbound uses mailed at Downieville or Marysville and later ones mailed by Wells Fargo in New York City, lot also includes two freight receipts for money packages (signed "A. T. Langton" in 1863 and 1864), mixed condition, Fine overall.
